Theresa is a Nurse Consultant in Diabetes at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust and an Honorary Visiting Professor in Diabetes Care at Birmingham City university.

In her clinical role she leads teams at the Trust's three hospitals and community site and works closely with the ICB to improve diabetes care for people with diabetes in Birmingham. She has a special interest in maternity and pre-conception care for women with diabetes and has been part of the preconception service for over 20 years.

In her academic role, she co-leads the Pregnancy in Diabetes MSc module and teaches on other post-registration, BSc and MSc courses on diabetes. She has published articles and book chapters and presented widely at conferences.
